This is exactly what virtual reality helps us to do. But wait a second!
Observing the current situation of 3D virtual reality, is
that really the case? For starters, in order to enjoy virtual reality, you are
actually dependent on all the required devices being available and attached
with a cord to another gadget such as a smartphone, PlayStation, computer, etc.
Here comes
the Big News!
HTC has partnered with Google to come up
with VR devices that would not need any other devices such as smartphones or
computers to function. This incredible innovation would aid virtual reality to break free from the
wires.
It was announced in the Google I/O 2017 conference that
took place on 17th May 2017 that with the support provided by
Google's Daydream virtual reality platform. HTC will be soon releasing the
latest standalone Vive headset.
Capabilities and Limitations
Currently, it cannot be said that the novel gadget will be capable
enough to control Vive’s highly complex 3D applications and graphically
intensive games seamlessly. Nevertheless, it is declared on their official
website that the new wireless technology involving virtual reality will provide
incomparable experience. Their claims beyond doubt give us the feel of a
dream-come-true situation.
It is astonishing to realize that this new gadget will not need
any other device to function. This means that we will not have to carry
smartphones with us all the time. And we will not need to use any cord to
attach it to the PlayStation. This new wireless VR device consists of a 3D mapping technology
that does not require any external sensors to operate also known as Google’s
WorldSense. Another notable thing about this remarkable innovated gadget is
that it would have more space for a bigger battery as no smartphone has to be
placed in for it to function.
The details shared regarding Vive were
very limited and only included the above announcement and that the innovated VR product will be
released by the end of this year. Nothing about its price tag was mentioned.
However, if it costs us somewhere in the range of a first-class smartphone,
then it could be regarded as a safe deal.
Several news reports also reveal that
the companies other than HTC are also working in collaboration with Google,
such as Lenovo, and are planning to soon introduce this wireless VR device. However, right now only
HTC along with the Google has confirmed the news about its Vive VR product. People have
great expectations from the suggested innovated model. If it proves successful
enough to meet all the expectations and dreams regarding it, it would be a
great contribution towards the entire 3D Virtual Reality industry.
